Actually have this version on the record I just purchased at the thrift store, is the ‘Best of Al Jolson’ thank you to whoever donated this masterpiece 😊
I used to have a 78 of this song sung as a duet by Al Jolson and Bing Crosby. It sounded great on my wind-up Victrola!

When whitey tries to dance like a brother.....hihihi
The original soul brother.
quick vamp! Vamp!
One of the most beautiful songs written by Irving Berlin. AndJolie does it great justice.
Legend
My mom would sing this song to me every mourning
Rudy Wissler was perfect as the young Jolson
Please. It's a great song by a great singer but it's been recorded by dozens of great singers. Let us remember who wrote the song--both the music and the lyrics: Irving Berlin. Was there ever a greater composer/lyricist??? EVER??
My daddy sang this song and when i hear it now it brings tears to my eyes
Whatever you think of Al Jolson. When it comes to his voice its beautiful. Just listen to this perfection and I absolutely adore Eddie Cantor. 🎙️👌👌👌👌
James Brown... eat your heart out!!!

The Al Jolson Story and Al Jolson sings again I have in my video library and have lost times how many times I have watched both films back to back. Great memories
Yes absolutely. I am 33 years old today. I was born in 91. And I have the fondest memories of watching both of those movies with my Pop pop. Such golden cherished memories that will forever be so dear to me.
How the hell did he memorise all that. 😮
I also like the version of this song in the opening credits of "The Jolson Story." As for this version,, nearly a century after this Irving Berlin tune was filmed, it is still great.
Enjoyable
Jolson first on stage, talkies, radio. First 35 years of 1900 s. America's biggest star....worlds greatest entertainer
